2021 Ford Edge
Ford Edge, the style that stands out
A stylish crossover, the Ford Edge has been a great success since its launch in 2007. The new version, available for 2021, is expected to continue to appeal to buyers because of the many enhancements.
Canadian-made - Edge is assembled in Oakville, Ontario - and renowned for its comfort and style. The Edge continues to offer a wide range of benefits in various trim levels.
A new interior
The 2021 Ford Edge is no different from last year's model. However, the cockpit is modernized, welcoming a new 12-inch touch-screen option with Ford's latest Sync 4 infotainment system. This system represents a big step forward.
Voice commands are simplified, and Apple Car Play and Android auto accounting are still standard. Connectionless updates and Ford Pass compatibility are also on the menu.
To create a smooth background, a standard audio system with six speakers is used. In contrast, the optional Bang & Olufsen premium system has twelve. The high-end models will also be equipped with a 4.2-inch dual screen and a charging cradle for wireless devices.
In addition to this new, more user-friendly interface, the Ford Edge also benefits from new acoustic laminated front side windows and rear parking sensors as standard. Other minor interior modifications, including the addition of a heated steering wheel on select models, are also planned.
Efficient engines
Under the hood of the Ford Edge is a range of efficient and well-thought-out engines. The majority of the versions receive a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Ecoboost engine. Power is not absent, with 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
The engine is married to an 8-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard in most cases, but the Ford Edge is also available in front-wheel-drive mode.
However, power enthusiasts are not without recourse since the Ford Edge ST is for them. The Edge ST is designed for them. It offers more power thanks to a 2.7-litre twin-turbo V-6 engine. With 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, this Edge can reach 0-60 km/h in less than six seconds.
The ST and ST-Line within the Edge family add a unique visual touch with their sleeker exterior appointments. More aggressive bumpers, black trim and a pair of chrome exhaust tips add spice to an already outstanding design.
A safe model
You can't talk about Ford and family vehicles without considering safety. This is the case of the Ford Edge, which receives a large number of driving assistants. For example, it comes standard with automatic emergency braking, active lane control and blind-spot monitors. Adaptive cruise control and a forward-facing camera are available on the top-of-the-range models.
A more refined version, called CoPilot 360 Plus, is also available as an option. It adds numerous other driver assistance features that enhance occupant safety.
More technological but still just as efficient, the Ford Edge 2021 is a model that meets the requirements of comfort lovers who love a style that stands out.
