Perhaps most importantly, it's the Ford Co-Pilot 360 driver assistance feature set that actively reduces the risk of traffic accidents. That's because of its pre-collision assistance with automatic emergency braking and blind-spot warning, and lane tracking systems. Powerful and green

Of course, what sets the Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid apart from other models in its lineup is its powertrain. It features a 2.5-liter iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid I-4 engine as well as a 14.4 kWh battery. In other words, it has a total range of 774 kilometres! Moreover, it has nothing to envy the other versions when it comes to power. It develops 221-horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. That's 20 more horsepower than the base non-plug-in hybrid model.

However, even though it's more powerful, it's still much more efficient in terms of fuel consumption. While the EcoBoost engine consumes 7.8L/100km and the non-plug-in hybrid 5.8L/100km combined, the plug-in hybrid consumes only 2.2L/100km! This is a difference that is felt both ecologically and economically.
